| Hey, sorry I've been gone a while, a lot of stuff has happened in a short amount of time. Anyway for the last month I have been designing a game for the 2014 Indie game maker contest, and it would really be nice to get some feedback before voting opens of next week. | I've used game maker for a long time. So i know a few things.
Here is my critique: - The death scream is loud. I'm wearing headphones and that scream made me... cringe. Not jump.
- When starting the game the first level becomes confusing. It's not a tutorial level for the player to understand and you get lost real quick without any real guide. A map or arrows would be helpful to navigate.
- The dialog box function is the biggest problem. I'm assuming you used the "Any Key" function for skipping dialog boxes. Every time I fell into the void and re-started at checkpoint the dialog box keeps re-appearing. I keep pressing the space or arrow key to keep the dialog moving a lot quick. A SKIP ALL dialog function would be the best solution.
That's my critique. If I can say anything else, it's that the music is great. Beautiful stuff.

| I did use the any key function, so the person wouldn't have to worry about what button to press in the beginning, ill make the scream small and I am currently working on a compass. The dialog box appears because the fairy "caught" you to keep you from falling into the abyss. Thanks for playing. | |

I just wanted to point out that, while yes, displaying the dialog box is fine once when explaining it the player. All the other times breaks the flow of the game. | |
